![]() Also, it tends to smooth your lines for you, so you don’t need to nitpick with each vertex individually. ![]() But it will soften your edges and add realism, and later will make your materials and textures appear much nicer. You’ll need to keep quads everywhere (which you’ve done pretty good with already) but also deal with tightening edges with extra loops or creases. Since you are new, it will probably make your job much harder. Second, you should consider adding a subsurface modifier. Plus, if you split the slide from the rest, you can add those vertical ridges easy-peasy. Right now, your slide, slide stop, take down lever, grip panel and magazine release are attached to the frame of the gun, but they actually shouldn’t be and it will make your life easier if you detach them (not as new objects necessarily but as separate meshes in the same object). It allows you to make more loops without adding geometry to the rest of your gun. I have a few comments that might help.įirst, any chance you get to split your gun into separate parts, do it. I just did a gun-blade and it was tough figuring out the best topology.
